Sr. Hardware Engineer

We are currently searching for a Sr. Hardware Engineer for our Solon, Ohio office.
The selected candidate will perform engineering tasks related to planning, developing and adapting methods to improve manufacturing production quality, yields and efficiency. Researches, designs and implements board-level electronic circuits and systems as defined by internal and external customers. Specific skill sets include, but are not limited to: analog hardware design, power supply design, signal conditioning design, system design, PCB board layout and schematics, A/D design, DAC design, low-current considerations, transmission lines, part and component evaluation and selection, theory of operation, technical specifications, error budgets, statistical analysis, process monitoring, repair procedures, manufacturing drawings, manufacturing specifications, documentation, calibration and verification, and RoHS compliance.
Requirements:
A four-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering and some experience in hardware design and development are required. Knowledge of measurement equipment is a plus.

Senior Embedded Software and FPGA Design Engineer

We are currently searching for a Sr. Embedded Software and FPGA Design Engineer for our Solon, Ohio office.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing the embedded software and FPGA components for DC, AC, Pulse, and Switch products including SMUs, DMMs, Pico Ammeters, Nano Voltmeters, IV/CV meters, and switches. He/she will design, prototype, code, and unit test product features and applications targeted to run on a variety of Keithley equipment. He/she will be part of a multi-discipline engineering team, but will also work directly with customers, marketers, applications engineers, manual writers, audit engineers, and MARCOM.
Job Requirements:
- Work with Engineering Project Manager and System Architect to perform assigned development tasks and participate in setting project and product schedule goals and consistently meeting and exceeding those goals.
- Gather and document product requirements. Ensure product suitability for targeted applications, manufacturability, profitability, ease-of-use, and quality.
- Implement solutions based upon stated goals.
- Demonstrate ability to solve difficult problems of diverse scope in creative and practical ways.
- Establish and maintain clear, concise, and complete design documentation that is modern, maintainable and transferrable. Conduct and document design review meetings.
Knowledge and Experience:
REQUIRED
A four-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
Solid embedded software design experience in real-time embedded systems
FPGA design, simulation, and prototype experience
DESIRED
“C/C++” programming language proficiency
Experience with Xilinx FPGA development using VHDL
Experience with Motorola PowerPC processor development
Experience developing embedded communication drivers for Ethernet, USB, and/or GPIB
Experience with real time operating systems and multi-processor systems
PLUS
Knowledge of product development for test and measurement equipment for electronics
Experience with Green Hills velOSity/Integrity operating system, Perforce, MATLAB, and ModelSim

Spring 2012 Co-Op Engineer
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position will perform engineering tasks related to testing, design verification, and performance validation. Responsibilities will be for software products, hardware products, and integrated test and measurement systems. Specific skill sets include, but are not limited to: test plan definition and execution, technical specification testing and validation, regression testing, root cause analysis, pattern recognition, fixture design, defect tracking, Mean Time Between Failure concepts, and documentation review.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Experience with test and measurement equipment as well as solid understanding in engineering concepts are required.
Electrical Engineering:
Working knowledge of analog hardware design and/or digital hardware design is required. Experience in PCB board layout and schematics, as well as part and component evaluation and selection is desired. Programming skills are a plus.
Computer Engineering/Computer Science:
Working knowledge of computer programming languages such as C/C++, Visual Basic, Java, and Perl; as well as experience in the Windows/Unix/Linux Operating Systems is strongly desired.Please Email Resume to:

Temporary Openings Electronic Technicians

We are currently searching for Temporary Electronic Technicians for our Solon, Ohio office. The assignments are estimated to last 6 months.
The selected candidate will follow process requirements for rework, soldering, cleaning, torque specifications, and other technical instructions. Identify and communicate test and repair results as directed and seek additional help as needed. Troubleshoot and repair to component level on complex products. Repair and maintain fixtures or test equipment if necessary. Demonstrate refined work in soldering, sky wire, wire wrap, hand placing fine pitch devices, cutting, jumping, and high count PCB modifications.
An Associate degree in electronics, military or related experience is required. Must be able to solder, read schematics, evaluate readings and test results. Solid electronic circuit and troubleshooting skills required. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds, 4 feet.

Field Applications Engineer (Mid-West Territory/Chicago)

We are currently searching for a Field Applications Engineer for our Mid-West Territory, located in the Chicago area.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support to Keithley personnel and customers by answering questions and resolving technical issues regarding performance and applications.
- Ability to understand Keithley defined sales process, assisting others in the sales team, as well as acting independently in accounts and sales situations when required.
- Acts as a liaison with customers and Keithley to constantly improve the performance on our products and service; as well as presents technical customer training courses.
- Visits customers independently to explore needs/issues, while providing complete solutions.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent is required, along with five or more years of expe rience. The successful candidate must have extensive DC test and measurement knowledge; a working knowledge of C, C++, C# or Java; and a working knowledge of Labview, TestStand and Matlab.
Must be willing to travel nationally, and occasionally internationally, up to 100% of the time for short periods; but would average between 50-75%.
