Senior System Engineer

Keithley is currently seeking a System Engineer for our Solon, Ohio offices.
The selected candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with new product development, manufacturing, and other professionals to develop industry-leading test equipment used by the fastest-growing electronics companies. He/she will work to ensure customer satisfaction, facilitate new product introductions, and execute cost reduction strategies, redesigns, and enhancements of existing products. We are looking for an experienced professional who is skilled at analog and digital hardware design and troubleshooting. Experience in system engineering of products containing distributed software, embedded firmware, and hardware components is a very strong plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required, along with two to six years of progressively responsible experience in a design engineering position. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
This position performs engineering tasks related to system design, system integration, and system-level specifications. The candidate will research, design, and implement board-level electronic circuits and systems as defined by internal and external customers. The applicant must be proficient in reading, debugging, and writing code running on embedded platforms as well as user-level software. Specific skill sets include, but are not limited to: analog and digital hardware design, power supply design, SMU design, signal conditioning design, PCB board schematic capture and layout, A/D and DAC design, signal integrity considerations for low-current and AC applications, part and component evaluation and selection, theory of operation, technical specifications, and error budgets. Must also perform engineering tasks related to planning, developing, and adapting methods to improve DfX, manufacturing production quality, yields, and efficiency. Proficiency in statistical analysis is desired.

Firmware Design Engineer
There is currently available to qualified candidates a position as a Firmware Design Engineer. The selected candidate will research, design, and implement component and system firmware. The selected candidate will also analyze and modify designs as necessary in new product development and existing product support. Create and circulate Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Authorizations, and Deviations. Design, implement, and debug device drivers in software programming languages (C++, Perl, Visual C using Real Time Operating System, VxWorks). Design, implement, test, and simulate FPGA design using DSP design, VHDL, Verilog, version control, part and component evaluation and selection, embedded systems, state machines, and PCI.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge of C++, Perl, Visual C using Real Time Operating System, closed-loop programming, real-time operating systems, FPGA design, DSP design, VHDL, and embedded systems.

SR. Applications Engineer
There is currently available to qualified candidates a position as a Sr. Applications Engineer. The selected candidate will monitor, develop and refine testing methodologies for customer satisfaction and improve product performance. Analyze eng. req. and confer to define new products. Provide technical support to customers, sales and marketing for product development and implementation. Write technical papers evaluating interface between hardware, software and performance requirements of overall system. Work heavily with C, UNIX & Windows. Work heavily with RF. Perform RF parameter extraction (Ft., Fmax, L, C, R, Q) preferably with CMOS devises and RF/DC device characterization in GHz range. Perform engineering analysis for semiconductor fabrication operations. Travel up to 10% required to meet with customers and train.
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, physics or equivalent. Two years experience of RF measurements knowledge in testing Silicon devises with Aluminum pads and interconnects & semiconductor fabrications operations and C, Unix, Windows.

Lead Field Applications ENG. (California)

Keithley is currently seeking a Lead Field Applications Engineer for our Irvine, CA office.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to Keithley personnel and customers by answering technical questions regarding product performance and application. He/she will provide customers, sales and marketing personnel with technical support for the promotion and sale of existing and new Keithley products, as well as training in the area of product operation and applications. The postion will support our high end DC and RF instrumentation products and ultimately will also be expected to provide first level support for our parametric tester lines.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent is required, with four to eight years of experience. A working knowledge of RF measurements as they apply to cell phone testing (GSM, CDMA, TDMA etc technologies) and good understanding of DC measurements is necessary. Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and S-Parameter measurements a plus. Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

The selected candidate will test and evaluate advanced test and measurement systems by developing and executing test plans and helping to analyze the results. He/she will perform configuration management and documentation tasks pertaining to the test function, and will participate in design reviews, project management meetings and process improvement activities.
The selected candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferably with a focus on embedded software. He/she should be familiar with either UNIX or Windows and must have some programming experience.
