The company markets highly accurate instruments and data acquisition products that measure low levels of voltage, resistance, current, capacitance, and charge, along with complete system solutions for high volume production and assembly testing.
Keithley focuses on developing new solutions for the broader electronics industry, as well as for several primary markets:
Electronic Manufacturing Production Test - high throughput solutions for component testing, encompassing the entire spectrum of control, connect, and source-measure instrumentation. Keithley's instruments are used from the initial production steps through final quality assurance tests and parts binning on diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, sensors, and other electronic components.
Flat Panel Displays/Optoelectronics - for testing the LCD/OLED optical components and diodes commonly used in display and fiberoptic telecommunications/datacom component industries, which require specialized test equipment capable of low current, high precision measurements.
Research/Education - scientific solutions that provide highly accurate, low level measurements for research into superconductivity, metals, polymers, insulators, and semiconductors.
Semiconductor - for device characterization and monitoring semiconductor wafer processing, including Automated Parametric Test systems, Wafer Level Reliability systems, and I-V/C-V test systems.

Since 1946, Keithley Instruments has been engineering the future of testing technology. The company was founded by Joseph F. Keithley, whose contributions to measurement science led to groundbreaking technologies. The company's earliest electronic measuring devices, such as electrometers and picoammeters, were ideal for measuring low level electrical signals precisely and were sold to scientists and physicists in laboratories around the world.
Over the years, Keithley has extended its measurement technology to create innovative solutions for high volume production test applications in the telecommunications, semiconductor, optoelectronics, and other segments of the electronics industry.
